TVP stands for Textured Vegetable Protein. TVP is made from soy proteins. There is a more complete composite of amino acids in TVP compared to real meat which allows your body to assimilate a higher percentage of protein. You also avoid the fat and cholesterol problems associated with real meats. They taste excellent, in fact you would have a hard time distinguishing TVP from real meats. Our TVP is also endorsed by many vegetarian organizations as an excellent substitute for meat.
Ingredients: Textured vegetable protein (soy flour and caramel color), vinegar, tomato powder, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, sugar, onion powder, salt, natural flavorings, hydrolyzed plant protein, potassium chloride, autolyzed yeast, spices, tractives of paprika.
Directions: Each 6 Tbsp. is the approximate serving equivalent of 6 slices of bacon, fried crisp and then crumbled. They stay crisp and fresh on your shelf without refrigeration. Contains no animal fats or meats. Suggested uses include: soups, in vegetarian dishes, sandwiches, cooking meats, etc.
